Enscicon is currently hiring for an Washington State Licensed Journeyman Electrician for multi-year long hydroelectric construction project.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The job of “Electrician” for a Hydro electric generator project includes many individual tasks including but not limited to:
setup of work area, monitor and control activities associated with hydropower generation.
Operate plant equipment, such as pumps, valves, gates, fans, electric control boards, and battery banks.
Monitor equipment operation and performance and make needed adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Perform equipment maintenance and repair as necessary.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment as needed.
Cable pulling, termination, and remarking.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum of 4 years of prior experience in power generation electrical field (preferably Hydro)
Heavy industrial construction project experience preferred.
Safe operation of heavy construction equipment.
Theory and application of repair and replacement practices for mechanical equipment and heavy industrial machinery used at hydroelectric power generating facilities.
Principles and practices of customer service.
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Actively respect all safety instructions detailed in the site EHS plan and being proactive on all safety-related topics at the work site
Report any quality issues and non?conformities and ensuring the site quality plan is respected at every step of the work
Perform skilled duties involving install or calibrate electrical and mechanical equipment Install cable conduits/Cable trays, cable pulling, termination, labelling, testing
Identify or address malfunctions of hydroelectric plant operational equipment, such as generators, transformers, or turbines.
Monitor hydroelectric equipment in regards to operation and performance, while adjusting to performance specifications, as necessary.
Use a wide range of hand and power tools.
Read and understand manuals, drawings, plans and specifications.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to redline electrical drawings and issue simple electrical sketches
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is carried out both inside and outside environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
Frequently sit while operating vehicles.
Frequently twist to reach equipment and perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
Frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand and walk.
Frequently push, pull, grasp and carry while walking.
Occasionally work on various types of terrain and footing which may be slippery.
