Position Overview: RIVA Solutions is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the NEITS program. This mid-to-senior level role will provide enterprise wireless services across a complex, multi-platform IT environment, supporting NOAA’s mission-critical operations. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable, secure connectivity to end users, stakeholders, and mission partners—directly supporting NOAA’s work in environmental monitoring, forecasting, and data dissemination.
Core Responsibilities:
- Installs and maintains complex networks that typically link numerous computing platforms, operating systems, and network topologies across widely dispersed geographical areas.
- Provide Tier-2 support for enterprise wireless LAN services, including troubleshooting, configuration, patching, and operational support.
- Work with Aruba-based wireless solutions, including controller-based Aruba Central deployments.
- Support wireless services for both campus and remote access point (AP) deployments.
- Manage various authentication methods such as certificate-based, single sign-on (SSO), guest access, and MAC authentication.
- Ensure IPv6 ompatibility across wireless systems and support users operating in IPv6 environments.
- Assist in planning and implementing wireless infrastructure upgrades and optimizations.
- Collaborate with Tier-3 engineers, federal leads, and stakeholders to ensure continuity and performance of wireless services.
- Document configurations, support procedures, and updates in accordance with government standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a technical field
- 6–8 years of related IT experience
- Hands on experience with Aruba wireless solutions, including both controller-based and cloud-based architectures
- Proficiency with enterprise wireless offerings, configuration, troubleshooting, operations, patching, and hardware
- Familiarity with IPv6 networking in enterprise environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting NOAA or other mission-driven federal scientific agencies
- Knowledge of NIST and FISMA standards related to network operations
- Relevant certifications such as Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP), ITIL, CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent
Salary: Up to $130,000 a year (based on experience)
